What is your cancelation/late policy?

I make the best efforts with my clients to schedule appointments at days and times that work for them. I offer exclusively in personal or virtual therapy, or a hybrid model of both if you are local. I pride myself on offering later appointment times to accommodate your busy schedule!

I schedule clients on the hour, so if you are running late, the session is will still end on time. Please let me know as soon as possible if you have to cancel your session. I appreciate consistent communication; therefore, if there is no contact within 15 minutes after the scheduled session time, it will be a noted no-show and will be canceled.

 

Unfortunately, if you are going to be late past 15 minutes, it is also a no-show and will be canceled.  After 3 no-shows without valid cause, you may be discharged and given 3 providers I recommend you contact.

 How often is therapy?

Therapy sessions are 53 minutes per insurance code 90837 and typically once a week to start. If a client is going through a crisis or particularly tough time, I make myself as available as possible for an extra session and support. However, I am not a crisis counselor and may not always be able to speak or connect immediately. For immediate assistance regarding a mental health crisis, please use 988, 911, Henderson behavioral health, and/or your safety plan.

Can I text you in between sessions?

Unfortunately, text messages get misconstrued and taken the wrong way; therefore, I do not provide text therapy. I use texting as a way of scheduling and reminding clients of appointments. I may also touch base if they are going through difficult times, need visual aids for coping skills, and to follow up regarding a prior, more intense session. I genuinely care about each client I see and believe is best suited to discuss your needs when I can give it my full attention in our time together.
